To be a vital member of a team of captioners who consistently provide on-time, accurate realtime captioning for Real-time
captioner will caption professional and college games to include basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer. Sports-related
events are also included such as sports talk shows, sports news and player interviews. Hours vary, but significant opportunity
for evening and weekend work.
SCHEDULES: Schedules are created to meet the captioning and quality needs of our customers. Most events occur in the
evenings and on weekends.
HOURS: Full-time hours begin at 67 hours/month. Part-time hours range from a minimum of 12 hours/month to a
maximum of 66 hours/month.

Qualifications and Requirements for this Typing, Data Entry, Clerical, Admin position:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must demonstrate ability to caption real time events at a rate of 225wpm with an accuracy rating of 98.5%.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to be a team player, able to work within Company’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to demonstrate clean, consistent writing skills.
- Ability to write conflict-free and use prefixes, suffixes, etc.
- Excellent reliability & punctuality.
- Commitment to excellence in developing and maintaining superior real-time captioning skills.
- Ability to learn and be receptive to suggestions.
- Ability to self-motivate and be an independent problem solver.
- Computer hardware/software technical knowledge a plus. Equipment:
Remote captioners are required to provide a computer (operating system Windows 2000 or better), a computerized steno
machine, three telephone lines (or two lines and a cell phone) and an ISP connection and court reporting or captioning
software (software provided by Caption Colorado for all full-time employees). Company provides a monthly
allowance to apply to the cost of phone lines and ISP. Company provides all modems and audio equipment.
The captioner is not responsible for any long distance charges incurred.
Work Environment:
Our captioners work in a “live” environment that demands reliability and accuracy at all times. Captioners are provided
with access to a technical support team to trouble shoot any technical problems that potentially would prohibit them from
delivering exceptional customer service. Captioners are afforded the opportunity to work from home.
