Work Description:
The electric power, gas and telecommunications industries are undergoing sweeping changes. The U.S. Congress and all 50 states are debating whether and how to substitute competition for decades of monopoly regulation. The firm’s mission is to help our clients -- legislators, regulators, consumer advocates, new competitors and utilities -- make regulated industries more efficient and accountable. To accomplish that mission, we need thoughtful, disciplined and public-spirited individuals to join our team of lawyers, economists and other professionals in providing legal representation, and substantive and strategic advice, to those responsible for the future structure of these industries.

Qualifications and Requirements for this Miscellaneous Category position:
Positions are available for Fall, Spring and Summer positions. The successful applicants will join a team of lawyers educated at Georgetown, Cornell, University of Maryland, Yale and the University of Western Ontario. Past clerks have combined skills in law, economics and policy-making. Relocation to the D.C. area is not essential; some past clerks have telecommuted successfully from their school locations. Candidates should have excellent legal research and writing skills.
